Kim Kardashian Talks Considering Breast Augmentation After Seeing Caitlyn Jenner’s Look

Manhattan, Long Island, New York City, NY ā€“ In a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian spoke with her sister Khloe about Caitlyn Jenner’s now famous Vanity Fair photo shoot.

Kim was with Caitlyn at the shoot, and Kim said she was impressed with how great Caitlyn’s breasts looked. She compared them to sister Kourtney Kardashian’s implants. Kourtney received breast implants in 2009. Caitlyn’s impressive new look inspired Kim to consider getting breast surgery.

Kim talked about how great Caitlyn looked and felt about herself: ā€œIt was so good to just see how comfortable she is in her own skin.ā€

Caitlyn Jenner recently revealed that her implants give her a 36D cup size on her 6’2ā€ frame. Caitlyn also underwent facial feminization, nose and cheekbone surgery before her big reveal in Vanity Fair earlier this year.

Kim Kardashian has always denied that she has had any plastic surgery done herself. She went so far as to have an x-ray in 2011 to prove that she has not had butt implants. Many plastic surgeons have agreed, however, that she has likely undergone a Brazilian butt lift, and that fat transfer would not show up in an x-ray.

Heavy Breasts Determine Fighting Weight Class for MMA Fighter Brye Anne Russillo

Manhattan, Long Island, New York City, NY ā€“ Mixed martial arts fighter Brye Anne Russillo has been getting media attention for her sport lately because her heavy breasts are standing in the way of her preferred fighting weight class.

Instead of being able to compete in the 145-pound weight division, Russillo’s 12-pound F-cup breasts have bumped her up into the 150-pound weight division. It took her team more than three months to get an agreement in place for her to fight at the 150-weight division with Paige Lian in last month’s Aggressive Combat Championships in Queens, New York. A match that Lian won.

Unlike other public figures, like Ariel Winter who has recently undergone breast reduction to feel more comfortable with her body and better suited for her career, Russillo isn’t considering the procedure yet. She is quoted by the New York Post as saying, ā€œIt’s not like I have a pink sparkly shelf to put them on. I’m trying to lose weight, but my boobs are what they are. I went to pastry school and I’m Italian, so I ate a lot of cannolis.ā€

Want to find out how a breast reduction can help you feel comfortable with your figure? Call Allure Plastic Surgery today at (212) 661-2563 to arrange your free consultation with an experienced New York plastic surgeon.

Ariel Winter Thought She’d Get More Criticism for Breast Reduction

Manhattan, Long Island, New York City, NY ā€“ Ariel Winter, the 17-year-old star of Modern Family chose to undergo breast reduction surgery in June to reduce the size of her breasts from a 32 F to a 34 D. She recently opened up about her experience in an interview with Glamour magazine.

Winter found it difficult to deal with the physical pain of breasts that were too large for her 5’1’’ frame. She said that standing up straight for hours caused immense pain on set. And the emotional turmoil that came with not being able to find clothes or bras that fit, along with dealing with unwanted attention for her overly large breasts was too much for the teen to endure.

The final straw came when she was swimsuit shopping with a cousin and couldn’t find any swimsuits that fit. ā€œI really felt bad about myself,ā€ the actress told Glamour. That’s when she decided that a breast reduction would help her feel confident and comfortable in her body.

Since undergoing the procedure, she’s received a lot of support from women and young girls across the country who identify with the pain she was experiencing and are inspired by her choice to start talking about their own desires for breast reduction.

She told People magazine at a recent event that she receives tweets from fans saying, ā€œthis wouldn’t be accepted where I am, but now that you did it and opened a conversation about it, I can actually like talk to my friends and family about the possibility of this.ā€

Germany to Ban Elective Procedures for Minors

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK – For many, the thought of allowing your child to undergo an elective cosmetic procedure such asĀ rhinoplastyĀ may seem crazy, but for others it’s not a far-fetched idea. From increasing self-esteem, to eliminating bullying and helping a child fit in, alterations to appearance can be crucial in the teen years. But is surgery the answer? Germany says no.

According to recent news reports, Chancellor Angela Merkel and the government have agreed to start a ban, effective in 2014. The reasons given include the child being too young to completely understand the decision, and subjecting a body that is still growing to a procedure without knowing the long-term effects on their physical and mental well-being.

Germany’s Christian Democratic Union reports that nearly 10 percent of all plastic surgery procedures performed in Germany are performed on those under the age of 20. However, the German Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons has disputed those numbers, claiming instead that only 1 percent of procedures are performed on patients under the age of 20.

Germany also performed a study that was released in October that found one in seven children between the ages of 9 and 14 had thought about plastic surgery to improve their looks. The surveyor, Bausparkasse LBS, asked 10,000 children what primary procedures they had thought about and the most common were nose jobs and liposuction. NY plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Miller advises patients of all ages on when is the best time to have a cosmetic procedure performed.

ā€œPlastic surgery in minors is a tricky subject,ā€ says Dr. Miller, who is a plastic surgeon in Manhattan. ā€œTeens bodies are still growing and maturing, so we won’t always know what the final result of nature will be once they’ve reached adulthood. We often think that we’ve reached adulthood when we turn 18, but for our bodies that might not be the case. Many girls continue to add weight between the ages of 18 and 21 that can reshape their figures, making a breast augmentation that seemed essential at 18 no longer needed.ā€

While clinical trials and studies are not available for explaining the long-term effects of plastic surgery on minors, in 2004, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons did release an official statement explaining their position against breast augmentation in patients under the age of 18.

In 2012, the ASPS reported that nearly 300,000 patient under the age of 18 underwent some form of cosmetic procedure. The most common procedures are nose reshaping, ear surgery, acne and acne scar treatment, and breast reduction.

ā€œAny good plastic surgeon will work with each patient on an individual basis,ā€ says Dr. Miller. ā€œWhile some patients may be mature enough to understand everything that involves a cosmetic procedure, others simply may not. A good surgeon will ensure that before performing surgery on any patient, no matter their age, he or she is able to understand the procedure and any stresses that may accompany it. While cosmetic surgery is commonplace today, it is still surgery that typically requires anesthesia and recovery time.ā€

The surgeon will also understand how the human body grows, and know the correct time to perform a procedure. For example, if a 13-year-old girl were to come in for a rhinoplasty, a surgeon may turn her away based on age alone because the nose typically continues to grow until the age of 15 or 16. For boys that might even be a year later.

ā€œIt’s important to remember that our bodies are growing and shifting during our teen years,ā€ says Dr. Miller. ā€œSomething that looks off when we’re 14 may look perfectly normal when we’re 19. And remember, everyone is self-conscious – even the head cheerleader who seems impervious. The teen years can be hard, but except in extreme cases, cosmetic surgery probably isn’t the right answer.ā€

Plastic surgery can offer amazing results and help patients feel more secure and confident. But for minors, it may be best to wait until their bodies have finished growing and they’ve had a chance to live in their adult bodies before choosing to go under the knife.

All about Arm Lifts: What They Are and Why You May Be a Good Candidate

MANHATTAN AND NEW YORK CITY – If you have used dumbbells and kettle bells in an effort to achieve sculpted arms, but have not seen results, it may be stubborn sagging skin that is the source of your flabby-looking arms. Luckily, even though exercise cannot give you the arms you desire, there is a solution.

Brachioplasty, or arm lift, can improve the look of arms in ways that working out and liposuction cannot. The surgery uses an incision made in your armpit or along the inside of your arm to get rid of excess skin. It changes the appearance of the upper arm—from the underarm area to the elbow.

ā€œEven though exercise can strengthen and tone upper arm muscles, it cannot treat skin that has lost its elasticity,ā€ said Dr. Elliot Heller, a plastic surgeon in NY who specializes in a number of enhancement procedures. ā€œThe only option for weakened skin tissues is surgery.ā€

Arm lift surgery has increased in popularity since 2000, rising from 300 procedures performed in 2000 to more than 15,000 surgeries completed in 2012. There are several possible explanations as to why more patients are undergoing arm lift surgery, including the growing number of those who are choosing weight loss surgeries, like gastric bypass, to help them drop the pounds. Weight loss procedures may help patients get rid of weight and fat, but it does not decrease the amount of skin that covers their body. And once skin is stretched out, it will not and cannot return to its natural shape.

On the other hand, sources like the American Society of Plastic Surgeons claim the large jump in occurrences of arm lift surgery is because more women are paying attention to the look of their arms—especially the way it compares to the appearance of celebrities’ (http://www.plasticsurgery.org/news-and-resources/press-release-archives/2013/upper-arm-lifts-jump-4000-percent-since-2000.html).

There are several reasons why arm skin sags, including weight loss (whether due to surgery, or diet and exercise), weight gain, aging and genetics. Removal of sagging skin due to those causes is just one of the reasons why patients undergo arm lift surgery. Other explanations arm lift surgery patients give for undergoing the procedure include to feel more comfortable about wearing short-sleeved tops and reshape their upper arm.

You may be a good candidate for an arm lift if you identify with the above reasons and:

  1. Are currently at your ideal weight
  2. See the skin and fat on your upper arm as excessive in comparison to your overall body mass
  3. Have sagging skin on your upper arm that you have not been able to get rid of using diet and/or exercise
  4. Are not obese
  5. Are healthy and do not suffer from serious medical conditions
  6. Have realistic expectations of the results

If you have considered undergoing an arm lift by an experienced plastic surgeon in the Manhattan area, do not wait any longer. You can turn to Dr. Heller, who has the expertise and knowledge necessary to give you tighter, younger-looking arms. He can also help you and other New York City patients target other sagging areas using procedures like a thigh lift and body lift. Heidi Montag Undergoes Third Round of Breast Reduction Surgery

MANHATTAN AND NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK ā€“ Heidi Montag, one of the former stars of ā€œThe Hills,ā€ recently went under the knife and experienced breast surgery for the third time. This round she had her F-cup breast implants reduced.

Montag underwent plastic surgery for the first time in 2007, choosing rhinoplasty and a breast augmentation that boosted her A-cups to C-cups. Three years later, she endured 10 plastic surgeries in one day, including a mini brow lift, rhinoplasty, chin reduction, liposuction, nasolabial lips and folds, buttock augmentation, check injections and breast enhancement that increased her C-cups to F-cups.

In the three years since her last breast augmentation, the implants, weighing approximately 3 pounds each, have caused her to suffer from a ruptured disk in her neck, pinched nerves that have resulted in numbness in her arm, and severe back problems including spinal and muscular damage.

The doctor who performed Montag’s breast reduction claims that the plastic surgeon who completed her F-cup implant surgery should have never allowed her to go through with it. In an interview with ā€œEntertainment Tonight,ā€ Montag said she was never warned by the doctor that she may experience complications due to the size of the implants, and admitted that she regrets surgery and is glad to have the weight literally lifted off her chest.

During the interview she also advised women from New York City and other areas who are considering breast surgery involving large implants to do their research because even though they may give them the appearance they desire, once the procedure is completed, the damage has been done to the skin, and back and neck muscles.

ā€œNo doubt oversized breast implants are not for everyone, for appearance and health reasons,ā€ said Dr. Elliot Heller, a plastic surgeon in Manhattan. ā€œWhen I advise my patients as to the size of implants that is best for them, I always consider the long run, what will give them the most natural look, and most importantly, the size that will be the best for their health.ā€

If your breast implants are causing serious health issues, you should consider undergoing breast reduction by an experienced plastic surgeon like Dr. Heller. He and other plastic surgery pros have the knowledge and expertise necessary to give you an enhanced look without putting your health in danger.Ā Schedule a consultationĀ with Dr. Heller today to learn how he can reverse plastic surgery problems so you not only look great but feel great too.

More Young Adults Embracing Plastic Surgery

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK ā€“ In recent years, more young adults have embraced the idea of cosmetic surgery, with more and more turning to the knife or Botox to get the look they’ve always dreamed of. In fact, in the past five years, stories have abounded of the young looking to become even more youthful and beautiful.

A 2008 Time article titled ā€œThe Young and Plastic Surgery Hungryā€ discussed that television shows such as ā€œNip/Tuckā€ and ā€œExtreme Makeoverā€ could be to blame. Another article from The Daily Mail discusses how patients may be turning to rhinoplasty or other procedures in a quest to appear perfect for their social media accounts, a phenomenon that has led some to label it ā€œthe Facebook Facelift.ā€

Whatever the reasons may be, it is clear that the trend is continuing to rise. In 2011, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported that just under 800,000 procedures were performed on patients in their 20s. That marked an increase of 6 percent from the year prior. And a 2008 study performed by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery found that those who gave cosmetic procedures the highest rating were 18 to 24-year-olds.

ā€œThe decision to undergo a cosmetic procedure is always a very personal one for the patient,ā€ says Dr. Andrew Miller, a plastic surgeon from Staten Island. ā€œWe can only speculate as to why more young adults are embracing it, but I suspect there are several reasons. The first may certainly relate to the way we communicate with one another. Through the rise of social media, it has become easier than ever to find and share photos of people. Young adults are the most frequent users of social media, so it would only make sense that they want to look their best in images that may very well spread throughout the country and world.

Another reason younger patients may be turning to breast augmentation and other procedures may also be the advanced technology. Getting a new look is easier than ever before, and requires very little downtime to recover, in many cases.

ā€œFor some procedures, such as Botox and filler injections, patients can walk out of our office with immediate results,ā€ says Dr. Miller. ā€œAnd in our fast paced world that’s a huge enticement. Who doesn’t want to feel more beautiful and confident in just an hour?ā€

No matter what the reasons behind having a plastic surgery procedure performed may be, one thing is certain. Today’s plastic surgery isn’t just for the 50-year-old who wants a facelift to look younger. Today’s cosmetic procedures can make patients feel more confident and sure of themselves, ready to tackle a competitive world.

Realistic Expectations are Key to Successful Plastic Surgery

MANHATTAN AND NEW YORK CITY ā€“ If you are under the impression that plastic surgery can perfect your appearance or improve your social life, you may be in for a surprise. Sure, it can correct structural issues like a cleft palate and help fight the signs of aging. But it will not make you more popular or look like your favorite celebrity.

Knowing the facts and having realistic expectations about plastic surgery is one of the first and most important steps toward having a successful experience. Because the choice to undergo a cosmetic procedure is a voluntary and emotional decision, it is crucial for you to determine why you want to go under the knife.

If you are considering plastic surgery to impress or please others, look like someone else, or improve your quality of life, you may want to re-examine your motives before going through with the procedure. If you do not, you may come out of surgery envisioning more dramatic results and plan to undergo additional procedures in an effort to attain the look you originally expected.

Breast augmentations and breast lifts are two procedures many patients, including those from Manhattan and NYC, typically anticipate different results from.

ā€œThose who have extremely droopy breasts cannot expect them to look youthful and perky after a lift surgery,ā€ said Dr. Elliot Heller, one of the best plastic surgeons in NY. ā€œAt the same time, patients who want to achieve a natural appearance should not think that choosing a size bigger than what their plastic surgeon recommends will help give them that look.ā€

Because your body’s anatomy is different from everyone else’s and vice versa, you also cannot expect to take a photo of someone else to your plastic surgeon showing what you want your breasts to resemble and think your chest will wind up looking exactly like that.

The more rational your assumptions about the results of any procedure, whether it’s breast augmentation, rhinoplasty or even Botox, are, the more likely you are to be satisfied with the product and your overall image.

So, how do you know if you have realistic expectations and are a good candidate for plastic surgery? The best prospects for cosmetic procedures are patients who already have good self-esteem, want to decrease the effects of aging, are undergoing surgery for themselves (not someone else) and have considered plastic surgery for several years.

If those statements describe you, it may be time for you to undergo the cosmetic procedure you have had in mind. Experienced plastic surgeons like Dr. Heller can help you make sure you are ready for surgery and chose the procedure that is right for you. To learn more and make sure your plastic surgery expectations are realistic, call 866-996-2607 today to schedule a consultation.

Plastic Surgery Consultant Says Society Accepts Females Surgery Choices More

MANHATTAN AND NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK – In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, plastic surgery consultant Justin Jedlica said he thinks women who undergo cosmetic procedures are accepted by society more than men are. Jedlica, who has experienced 128 plastic surgeries, is a living testament to the way esthetic procedures can alter the look of different parts of your body and society’s view of your appearance.

Jedlica first entertained the idea of plastic surgery at 13 or 14 years of age and at 17 years old he began the search for a cosmetic surgeon. After three consultations, Jedlica chose the doctor who would perform his nose job a few days after he turned 18 years of age. Instead of spending money on clothing, cars and other luxuries like friends his age had, Jedlica had saved his money toward the surgery.

Saving up for his procedure was not the only obstacle Jedlica faced, he told The Huffington Post. After his nose job, Jedlica saw more tweaks he wanted to make, desiring a more ā€œover-stylized,ā€ ā€œfeminineā€ and ā€œcartoonishā€ look that he felt he had a difficult time getting doctors on the same page with because he was a young male and their acceptance of his surgical decisions was not as great as if he were a female.

ā€œEven though Justin refutes the claims, psychologists and others have said he has body dysmorphic disorder,ā€ said Dr. Andrew Miller, a New York City plastic surgeon. ā€œIt has certainly become an obsession, something he has centered his whole life around.ā€

Since his first nose job, Jedlica has spent more than $100,000 and experienced 127 procedures, including fillers in his lips (like the Juvederm Dr. Miller offers in New York), and arm, chest and cheek implants (which many Manhattan patients have completed the same time as a cheeklift) in an effort to look like a Ken doll. While Dr. Miller’s patients may not desire as extreme a transformation as Jedlica, they appreciate the time he takes to make sure their goals are realistic and the surgery they want is for the right reasons.

Dr. Miller has many years of experience with performing a variety of facial procedures, like laser wrinkle removal, rhinoplasty, photofacial and more that are sure to give patients the look they want. He understands that despite society’s acceptance or nonacceptance of cosmetic procedures, both men and women desire to change the way they look, and has the knowledge and expertise necessary to determine which procedure is best for you.
